Andy,
I have Repackaged the file and re-uploaded. If it isn't working for Ged, then I definitely know that there is a problem! Apologies anyone who has downloaded this corrupt file.

EDIT : May I just clarify Andy M's last comments?  The zip file downloads without problem - it's the unpacking of the zip file which fails, at Tawfront.ace in 35020's Cabview folder, thus preventing any further unpacking.

148MB is the size of the zip file, so there was obviously an issue when I last packaged up or when it was uploaded to UKTS. So that tells me in itself that there was an issue. Lets hope it works next time around correctly.

Sorry to be pedantic (but you know me!).
You have repackaged the files/folders, but I think the problem is with the file before packaging.  If you haven't done so, before you re-submit it to UKTS, may I suggest you try unpacking it yourself.  It's possible that the archiver you're using doesn't find the error and unpacks fully - which one do you use?

EDIT : Following on from your last comments, it would seem that there could have been a problem with the actual upload to UKTS, in which case you wouldn't know, unless you'd downloaded it as soon as it appeared in the library (which is something I did with my (very few!) uploads).

No problem. I had already been through that routine of checking them all through Shape Viewer prior to re-uloading to UKTS. So all good to go now on the Western Front!   
So you know I use WinZip. I obviously didn't check these prior to re-uploading last time. A minor mistake I know! But we all live and learn!

180MB for 13 steam locos seems an awful lot.

Were the ace and shape files all compressed?

Hi Niall,
I can't answer for the texture files, but the shape files are all compressed.
Each loco's folder takes up about 21.7MB, but included in that are 4 .tga files of just over 1MB a piece.

Just a thought - may be Andy's ISP has a limit on the size of files which can be uploaded; if the same happens again, this is number one suspect!  Or, even, UKTS might be choking on it.

I have just checked all 13 of them in Shape File Manager and yes they are all compressed. I forgot to mention that I meant 148MB and not the 180MB that I said!

Its happened again, have just downloaded version 2.  size 75.9MB
Excatly the same problem with the Taw front ace of 35020 Bibby Line. 35021-35026 do not open.

edit: Have again scrapped first download and tried again, with the same result actual download from UKTS took
4mins 20 seconds.
Im afraid I can not copy the extraction across from UKTS but it stops at Trainset\AAC_DEE_MNR_35020\Cabview\Tawfront,ace.
It stops at 99% and shows 2 errors.

Hi Andy, I also have tried the new download and ended up with same result as the first one, it is only
half the size it is supposed to be and is still missing the 35021-35026 loco's.

I have just down loaded the June 8th version and like Bob there is nothing after 35020,21-26 seem to be missing,no worries though,I will just use the ones I have then, when the last 6 are uploaded I will add them then.

Hi Andy,
It is as I suspected - a size limit is being exceeded somewhere!
May I suggest that you upload them in separate parts - your original (Part 1) was only 67.3MB. Recently, mickrik has uploaded an 88MB zip file, which unpacks without problem.

Hi Andy/Ged.
As all of the Locos up to and including 35019 have downloaded without problem, I agree with Ged that it would now make sence to repackage the last seven Locos seperatly.
Andy, I would like to thank you for your efforts renaming and renumbering all those MNs, there are only two missing now
35011 General Steam Navigation and 35015 Rotterdam Lloyd though I think Danny is going to do the latter for his route, probally with
Golden Arrow headboards as this was a regular loco on this service.

Thanks everyone for the reply. I think there is an issue with UKTS somewhere? I have noticed that all downloads are showing at 0?! It does state that there isn't a limit to the file size that can be uploaded?? But obviously there is??
I am away from my Laptop currently, so I am unable to do anything about it. But I will have a look later. I know there isn't an issue with the Zip file as I checked it myself prior to uploading.

I have recently uploaded (twice now) my 13 re-textured Merchant Navies to UKTS and for whatever reason the UKTS site is leaving out some of the locos and the files. Please can you tell me why this is? I have checked the zip file that I created and all the models are there and all complete.
It is obviously an issue with the amount of MB (Mega-Bytes) that can be uploaded? It does state though that there isn't a size limit.
Please can you or someone else in the know come back to me with an answer please?

Which upload procedure are you using? Web Folders or FTP. Could it have some bearing on the matter?

just taken a look at the UKTS front page and there is a problem or problems ith their System test and their administrators have been paged.
So it looks like its not Andys fault after all, must be very frustrating though.

That sign has been there for at least 3 weeks now it showed first about the time every up load had a continuous count by it,I have a feeling no one can be bothered about things any more,unless you complain about any thing regarding DTG,

I have used both web and FTP and still the same issue. I am starting to think this is now an UKTS issue now...... As I have said all folders and the Ace and other texture files are showing correctly and are opening in Shape Viewer. I have had a reply from a Moderator Easilyconfused over on UKTS to say the following to my last message which isn't exactly helpful. But anyway I have forwarded it on! so here it is;

"Hi Andy.

I can assure you there is no file size limit. However, the moderators do not have access to the file library functions. You will need to send an email to support@atomic-systems.com and the site admin / file librarian will reply."

This is very frustrating to say the least!!

I have every faith that the zip file is perfectly OK on your PC and, without confirmation to the contrary, I also believe UKTS when they say there is no limit on file size.  This is supported by evidence of much larger zip files already existing in the library.   This, to me, leaves one other suspect - your ISP!  Do you know if they impose a limit on uploaded files?  I've tried to find out if mine (Orange/EE) has such a limit, but I'm not able to find any info!

To determine if it is your ISP, you could use one of the sites (DropBox, HighTail, etc) which allow you to transfer large files for free (initially!).  You could then check if the complete file has been uploaded, and download it, if necessary, or one of us could try it.

I sent the Zip file to Pete over at UKTS via Dropbox as he can't seem to understand the issue either. Very strange!!   
It is now over on UKTS as file File ID: 33057.
I have also been working very hard on the Class 20 over the past couple of days shaping it to near enough correct and doing the Bogie correctly from scratch.

Yes, that class 20 is certainly coming along fine.
I have just downloaded the Merchant navy pack File UKTS 33057 and all are now "Present and Correct Sir."
Thanks also to Ged for the tip, only I looked at the UKTS site around two to three hours ago and noted that the file had gone missing.
So i guess the boys at UKTS were sorting it out.

without any problem.

Um, I think the possibillties of making an activity myself are Zero.
What I actually meant was, I was looking to swap 34053 for a Merchant Navy to see how it performed, Obviously I would back up the original activity first.
I have looked at the Steam 4 me site and creating activities looks horrendous, defently not for me.

Well after a bit of time and with some help from Dave Robinson (TwomanyDJs) help.... Thanks for the help mate!    - Certainly help from others keeps this Sim alive!!!   
I have finally been able to crack on with some work on the 4TC Unit! Lots of work still to do, but finally getting some more modelling done on the unit! Air Vents and Internal work is near enough done... Pipework still to do and some minor adjustements. Re-done some of the rounded work on the Cab Front.
Thought I would take a break from the Class 20..... It's nice to mix and match and revert back to photos and to take a step back.....   
Some work also done to he TFK and also work started on the TBSK..... some shots of the work and then finally with all 4 coaches together...Oh and with 20189 to give you an idea....

Well it's all looking very good, and it was pleasing to hear that the community is working together.

BTW, this is probably a long shot, but is anyone able to help me please in locating the 4TC TFK Coach/Seating arrangement and any photos please from the compartments and from the corridors please?

Can't help with the 4TC but remember thet they were converted from conventional Mk1s so I imagine they recieved little alteration apart from re-upholstering with current EMU material.

The class20 looks a bit too long.  They were 14.25m long over buffers.

Not sure why but 20189 half is below ground and positioned to the side alot....Half of the Diesel is in the first TC coach (But that may be a bounding box issue)... Is this how it is positioned in TSM for 20189 to be like this?

Make sure all parts are centred to origin except bogies and wheels which should be centred to the pivot point.
You can move the centre by holding down SHIFT.

Hi all,
Have managed to resolve some issues and spent a couple of hours adjusting the .wag and .eng files. Here is 20189 and the 4TC set in OR;





Will give it a good run fresh out of the paintshop and will then concentrate on some pipework, some final texturing and some cabview's from the outide.

On the plus side, it's saving wear and tear on the wheels and track!   



Seriously though, don't worry too much about the problems, like Alec's contributions, you are improving as you go along and for a sim well past it's sell-by date, it's great to have two new people building models as it keeps the sim alive.

All I'd say is don't lose your source files as a) Open Rails opens up new possibilities and b) as you'll get better you'll be able re-visit and improve older models as your knowledge of modelling improves.

Thanks Niall for the feedback. Last night I also did some texture work to the roof of the Class 20. Got the Coupling to make and Pipework left to do. I resized it as well and I might have to redo the frame as it curves in slightly at the front. I've had a brief look this morning and I haven't got enough points from what I can see to curve it. I'm also going to redo the texture for the side of the frame. I will be doing the Cab's Internal controls looking at it from the outside later on today.
For the 4TC this has now been resized on all coaches. Pipework remains. Not sure whether or not to do some Internal Window texturing yet? But still some texture work to do for the sides for the TFK and TBSK.
But any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hi all,
Here is 20189 nearly finished..... Internal Cabview now has the control panel and seats. Just a couple of minor pieces to do before I see it as completed and testing. Alot of work has been done in connecting every part properly. I am going to put some headboard stands on the buffer beams for a possible London 150 Board as well. Then onto the other Class 20 and the finishing off the 4TC set;

Hi all,
Is anyone able to help me with the Met 4TC Emblem that is on the side of the unit please? I have made a slight change to the main coach with the numbering and will need to make another coach unit with numbering 76297. I have sent 20189 along with the current 4TC unit as it stands for a test after making some changes to the Eng file. Hopefully it tests okay...

Looking at the various videos and images on 'tinternet, the crest on the side of the 4TC coaches seems similar to that on "Sarah Siddons", although none of them can be seen very clearly.

Yes, that's the clip I saw first and thought the badges were similar. When I found the image on the rmweb site, that's what clinched it!!

I love "Sarah Siddons" - she's a real blast from the past! I see we have one in the UKTS library, but she only has her number and not the MET crest, although reskinning shouldn't be too difficult (I'm not offering, though!).
