Route Riter oddity
Hi all,
I have recently created 2 freight activities and when checking each of them with Route Riter all the consists are shown correctly except for the player consist, when most of the wagons are missing but not the brake van.
Any idea why this happens?
Regards,
Stephen

Re: Route Riter oddity
Hi all,
Further checking has shown that this is not restricted to my Briscard Activities nor even to freight trains. In each activity where the player consist exceeds 8 items of stock only 8 wagons/coaches are shown. If the train is a DMU or EMU then only the first 8 coaches are shown. If it is loco hauled then the loco + only 8 coaches or wagons are shown. However, if the freight train also has a brake van, then this is shown as well. This happens on different routes and other peoples consists as well as mine.
Why should this happen when ALL the ai consists are shown correctly?
Hoping someone can shed some light on this,
Stephen

Re: Route Riter oddity
Hi Stephen,
I think you completely lost me on the 2nd post.... Are you talking about Route Riter or Conbuilder? As to the left and right of the Conbuilder when creating a consist you have arrows to the left and right to scroll through the consist.
However; any screenshots on Route Riter and how you are checking may help a bit more.
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,
To confirm the problem is with Route Riter only.
I'm not good at posting screenshots so I'll describe what I do.
1 Open RouteRiter
2 Select route if different from that last used and click on Confirm Route, in this case BTB.
3 Open Activities Folder in left box to produce list of activities in next box to right.
4 In lower section of RR window open activity checking.
5 Open required activity and click on Check Selected Activity.
6 This opens a new window listing services etc. loose consists and Consists.
The extract below gives the player consist which should have 24 coal wagons not the 7 coal wagons shown

Re: Route Riter oddity
Stephen
I have just looked at a number of activities for BrisCard where the player consist exceeds 9 units, and you are perfectly correct in pointing out that RR only displays the first 9 units.
Now RR in checking all activities for the route did not find any errors, and when running the activity all stock appears to be present.
I can only assume that this is an anomaly within RR, which has not been pointed out before unless someone else knows different. In recent correspondence with Mike Simpson, the creator of RR, he has informed me that RR will not be amended or developed further, this being one of the reasons that it is now freeware.

Hi Alec,
Thanks for the information, I'm glad it's not just me! It must be another of MSTS related quirks which we either love or hate depending on how it affects what you are doing at the time.

Stephen
