Save Activity List Date Format
I have a copy of MSTS which was purchased in the USA. I have my date set on my system to the UK format (D-M-Y). In the list of saved activities MSTS displays the US date format (M-D-Y). When a single month set of dates are sorted in date order, for example, all January dates sort with the newest at the bottom. However, if two months are displayed (say January and February), February is at the top with January below, with each month sorted correctly within itself with the newest at the bottom of each month set. It sorts by the month then by the day. Consequently the newest save is not at the bottom of the list.
Do users of a version purchased in the UK have the same problem?
If not, is there a way to make MSTS display by the UK format which should correct the sort problem?

Hi David
I have a UK bought copy of MSTS, all my activity saves are sorted oldest first, the latest save always appears at the bottom of the list, I haven't altered the default date format though as it already displays the UK date format.

Never a problem for me.
I just delete the route folder in the saves folder when I complete an activity.
Who needs a month old save?

Ian, it only needs to span a month-end to be confusing.
Somewhere in MSTS there must be a setting for the date format, but I have searched and cannot find it.

David,
Does this not work for you with the newest at the top and oldest at the bottom?
Regards,
Chris

Apparently so but where would February 2013 saves display? Would they not be below December 2012 and not above January 2013 as they should be?

Re: Save Activity List Date Format
The dates displayed are in the USA format mm/dd/yyyy. My save dates are in the UK format dd/mm/yyyy. Given that MSTS is an American program I think it likely that it sorts to suit the USA format, hence the confusion when saves are made spanning a month end and start.
Personally I would rather keep the UK format and either not make saves at a month end or live with the confusion.

Re: Save Activity List Date Format
On my system where everything is set to dd/mm/yyyy if I sort my saves by date within MSTS; I get
04/02/2013
29/01/2013
23/06/2012
20/02/2011 etc
everything seems to sort correctly for me
04/02/2013
29/01/2013
23/06/2012
20/02/2011 etc

Truth is rarely pure, and never simple.
Re: Save Activity List Date Format
I've looked at this again, it would seem that MSTS does not retain the date sort sequence from one session to another, Once you press the sort by date then the newest ones appear at the top. Go back and they are sorted by name with the latest at the bottom UNLESS there is a month span, so it would seem that the answer is to press the date button every time. I couldn't find any month spanned saves to test this.

I have just seen your response. Yes it works even with month spanned saves. Thanks mendes.
