SCP Mini Route

Hi All.

Just reinstalled the Mini Route SCP i want to delete the MSTS start up video but i cant remember which video i have to delete there are 5 in my Global Folder any help please????

I have just checked in my SCP global folder and there was only one video in there which is called "startup.mpg" so that is the one you are looking for, not sure where you got the other four from?

Hi Art,
As Mark has said it is the "startup.mpg" file. Leave the .dat files alone!

They are data files, not video files, video files in MSTS should have the ".mpg" extension eg: "startup.mpg"

"startup.mpg" is the default startup video for MSTS.

Hi Art.

Do you have any files at all called "startup" (without the quotes) in the global folder? if so can you tell us what the extension is.

If SCP begins with the startup video it must be in there somewhere.

It will most certainly be there Art. Sounds like you are missing it. Especially if when you start MSTS you are getting the normal load up screen with the KUJU bit showing up...... Surprised

First question - When you start SCP after selecting an activity, do you get the Kuju video? If so, then you have startup.mpg in your GLOBAL folder. If not, then don't worry!!

Second Question - If you still can't find startup.mpg, are you looking in the correct folder? It should be scp_MiniRoute\Train Simulator\GLOBAL.

I'm wondering if Art still has the default "Hide extensions for known file types." set and so can't see the ".mpg".

He can see the .dat extensions, so he should be able to see the .mpg extensions.

If I remember rightly someone guided him through the show extensions procedure a while back.

Hi Art,
Thanks for the image of your SCP GLOBAL folder.

There is certainly no .mpg file there, as you said!

Next Question - Are you running the correct Desktop icon?
If you right-click on it, scroll down to Properties then left-click you'll get the Properties display. The Target line should read : "F:\scp_MiniRoute\Train Simulator\SCP_Mini_Loader.exe" If yours is the same, then I can't think what the answer would be, but if yours is different, what is shown in that line? (I've taken the drive letter and location from the image you sent).

Hi Art,
A Handy tool to have especially if you're running Windows 7 is called 'Agent Ransack'
Do you have it? If not here is the download link; http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/download
It's a handy little tool for searching for the file you need. Just remember to type or copy and paste when searching; startup.mpg
See what it comes up with and post the results!

Hi Ged,
Agent Ransack is a freebie, File Locator Pro is the full version and I've just checked as you suggested and it hasn't asked for a key??!!
It's been safe for me. Saved me a lot of file searching in Windows 7 with the demise of the inbuilt search utility and now all you have to is right click and Agent Ransack will search that particular folder/folders! Wink

Also forgot to say that to say forget the "Register" icon/button just go to the "Download" Icon/button... Not sure why that is even on there, but anyhow.... works a treat for me!

Hi Andy,
Apologies! I just saw it on the website, but running the software and selecting Help > About it states that registration is not required.

It's also useful for finding text within a file, like WinGrep; even inside zip files!

Found the Makeover Screens i want ID 21499 what is the correct way to use the exe. I sent it to my Desktop and then to SCP MiniRoute GUI/Screens but it is not there??? Embarassed

What is the location of your Mini Route? It just needs to go into the default directory i.e as mine would be C:\MSTS

You need to point it to the disc drive you have SCP on I.E C\:SCP I have my mini routes on D drive I.E D\:scp_MiniRoute

When you clicked on the exe you did point it to F:\scp_MiniRoute didn't you,just clicking on the exe is no good.

Based on the image of his GLOBAL folder Art sent me, the installation folder for his new screens should be : F:\scp_MiniRoute\Train Simulator

Help please trying to find the Loco BD_V1_Tank 67611 ?? Done a search but does not find it and i have looked in Trainset cant see it and i did unstore all as i want to delete the Crew??

I think you will find it is file ID 17462. I think you will have to go through copying the folder and renaming the folder and the associated files as BD_V1_Tank 67611 .

Done that found Eng files but no Crews????

Hi Art, had a look at the .eng file in the BD_V1_Tank_67611 folder and if you want to get rid of the crew you
need to open up the file using Wordpad and scroll down until you see the line that starts with Intake Point.
Delete the next line that starts FreightAnim ("------------"), by placing the cursor at the start of the line and
press the delete key until the next line which starts with the word Adheasion is next to the cursor, then save the
file and exit and so when you use the engine the crew will have disappeared.
There are other files in the folder but these are .eng.bak versions and do need to be altered and can be left in
there as they are not recognised by MSTS as a genuine engine.

You will find it between buffers and Brake Equipment,by the way there are 2 eng files top one is for AI trains and also has

FreightAnim ( "..\\common.crew\\LIB_1\\V1.s" 0 3.0 0.0 )

You will find it just below IntakePoint ( -1.99 2.73 FuelCoal )
and above
Antislip ( 1 )
Adheasion ( 0.15 0.240 2 0 )
