Disappearing files
I discovered that the file GWRblower.ace was missing from my common.cab\GWR_king folder, so I went back to the source file UKTS 30706 and unzipped it.
No file with that name.
I then opened the zipped file without unzipping it and the file was there.
I have tried three differed unzipping programs with the same result.
Weirder still, I copied the file from the opened but unzipped folder and pasted it into the GWR_king folder. I was informed that the file already existed so I said "overwrite". Still no file of that name in the folder.
Any thoughts please?
Jonathan

Re: Disappearing files
Hi Jonathan.
It may be a hidden file.
In windows 10, (and possibly windows 8 ) open the folder, select view at the top of the folder, and check the "hidden items" box, and the file should show up in the folder.
Earlier versions of windows give the options of showing hidden files, can't remember exactly how it was done, but should be easy to do.
Does the cabview work OK, or do you get an error for the missing file?

Mark is correct. It's a hidden file.
I just downloaded 30706 and unpacked it using Winzip 16.5 and then with the latest 7-zip. In both cases the file in question was there but the small icon beside it was a lot more faint than the others (except for water.ace which was also faint). I have "show hidden files" already turned on. When I right-clicked on the file and chose Properties, it has a tick beside "Hidden" (as did water.ace).
Bob.
