TC additional activities for NWE V3
Currently under construction is a class 37 hauled binliner train from Gtr Manchester Waste at Bredbury to Runcorn, with an additional pickup at Northenden.
Keep you posted.

Bin watching this while wearing mask and gloves.
Seriously though it will be good to have another binliner activity - they are sadly overlooked

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
OK, Activity completed!
Does anyone want to test it for me, please before I upload? (drop me a PM) 1.5 hours long
There's lots of interactive AI, so the activity probably won't run as intended in OR, but I haven't tried it...
One point however, and I cannot solve the issue, is that the activity crashes when in view '6'.
I've tested the consist in my test route, and it works fine there, so a bit of a puzzle.
Any ideas, anyone?

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
Hi Terry,
By "View 6", I'm interpreting that as the view looking down on the front coupling.
I know you said it works OK on your test route, but does it still happen on NWE if you substitute the loco? If not, can you tell us the loco causing the problem,so that we can test it independently.
Cheers,
Ged

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
Thanks Ged,
For what it's worth, the loco is 37406 (+37410 double headed), however, I've tried changing the player loco, the consist, the player loco and consist, but it's with the same results
All OK in my 'Test' route...
So it appears to be a NWE3 route issue...
I've since tried using view 6 on other activities contained in the download, and although most are OK, there still are some which crash the sim.
Now need to get thinking cap on...

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
Well, a "tester" has reported that he has no issues with the front coupler view, so I'm putting it down to my set up (perhaps it's time for me to do an msts re-install?), so activity has been uploaded to ukts,
Next activity is another heavy freight run.
This time a 47 hauled fully laden oil train from Stanlow to Haydock...

Hi Terry,
Many thanks for the Rubbish! activity
I liked the use of the Laurie Dickerson and Doug Lee tribute wagons!
... and I DID make 60mph - twice - once approaching Plumley and again at Halton Junction!!
Well Done!
Cheers,
Ged

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
Thanks for the feedback Ged. Much appreciated.
Next Activity, Stanlow to Haydock Fuel Oil, has been independently tested, and will be uploaded to ukts this evening
1hr 25mins, typical TC heavy freight activity (which I love writing ), lots of interactive AI where passenger services normally get priority, so again (sadly) won't run as intended in OR.
The tribute wagons (as always) do get an outing here too.

Stanlow to Haydock Fuel Oil activity now available for download from ukts.
Next activity already started... The 4th 'Lime Street Crew' effort.
After that, something I've been planning to do for some time, and that's a l - o - n - g twisty-turny activity using, and showing off, Ian's splendid 'bendy' LWR wagons (Almost certainly Workington to Garston... but via which exact route ? )

Part 5 has been finished, and will find it's way there in due course.
(Workington-Garston under construction, but is giving me some angst )

Terry, perhaps you should put it up for download here at TSSH. It does not seem as if it will appear at UKTS!

I've checked, and it doesn't look like anything is 'jumping the queue'.
There are still 10 file numbers between the latest approved (34851) and mine (34861), so I guess it's down to the usual ukts en mass approval system.

A very silly question Terry.
Have you considered uploading your activities to the TSSH upload thread?
I note that Stephen Wells has three of his Scottish Central plus activities over here.
Just a thought
Cheers

Hi Terry,
I see a lot of file numbers later than yours are now on the front page of UKTS !!!!
It might pay to check with UKTS again to make sure yours has not been lost.

Sadly it would appear that there is no longer any interest in MSTS at UKTS.

Hi Terry.
I downloaded the file from your Dropbox link, unzipped it, installed it and started up the activity with no problem at all.

Bob.

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
Thanks Guys,
I'm going to leave the link open for the time being to allow others to download, and to run the activity (which took me weeks to write!)
I don't understand why ukts are having 'issues' with the file, the very same file being uploaded there. (for the 3rd attempt.)

Hi Terry.
You could add it to our download page, that uses dropbox to host files, Justin (or members who have uploaded files) will be able to tell you more.
Our downloads section can be found here........
http://tsshonline.weebly.com/
Not sure what the procedure is as I have not got round to doing it yet.

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
Rails to Workington finally approved over on ukts...
Just need to run my next activity for one final (hopefully, final! ) check , before sending to my 'official' tester ... hopefully by the weekend.
It's a nice, simple 2hr long Class 31 RR service from Manchester Victoria to Barrow. (by request )
Any other requests will be welcomed and duly considered
(I will be penning a V3 version of my all time favourite own NWE activity, "To Boldly Go", in due course)

Re: TC additional activities for NWE V3
I'm just working on a new activity, together with Bob, which will require some additional stock. However, Don't Panic! The plan is to release the activity with the stock included in the download.
It's loosely based on Bob's holidays when he was a nipper all those years ago , when the Latimer family went on their annual summer vacation to Morecambe. It utilises Bobs invisipilot to switch between 3 different trains during the journey.
We've just hit a snag at the moment (switching from Steam to a DMU), but hopefully we will get that sorted soon.
Will update with progress as and when.
Cheers,
T

IC cross country Stoke-Glasgow
Now available over on ukts. File ID 35456
You are in charge of a winter IC service from Stoke-on-Trent to Glasgow.
There will be an change of Locomotive from a Class 47 to a class 86 to negotiate at Preston.
No additional files are needed to run this activity.
If anyone wishes to upload this file here also, then that would be good

Latest Activity uploaded to the site (will also upload to ukts in near future) Over 3.5 hours
README s follows
"Maryport-Padiham Coal
On a wet Autumn morning, you are in charge of your class 56 and rake of coal wagons for a journey from Maryport Open Cast mine to Padiham Power station.
***Unfortunately this activity relies heavily on AI traffic & timings, and as such will not perform on the OpenRails platform.
You will benefit from installing the Class 56 Rear cab-view, which is included in this download, and somehow escaped the original route release.
Just drop the TrainSimulator folder into your msts root folder and allow to overwrite."
*** I've tried and tried to get this to run as intended in OR, but not only are the timings impossible to duplicate, even getting the path priorities correct has beaten me.
Sorry

Sincere apologies..
There is an error in the RR class ai_309.con file. (Caused by me manually editing the file!)
Version 1.1 of the activity now corrects this.

Nice simple activity uploaded...
Leeds to Lancaster.
Picking up the service just south of Hellifield, take your class 150 to Lancaster via the scenic 'Little North Western' route, calling at all stations.
This activity should also run as intended on the Open Rails platform.
