Train Simulator as a Standard User

I note that krausyao has uploaded an interesting item on UKTS HERE in relation to the title of this thread. I would be interested in hearing what other simmers think of the ideas within.
Having got used to the current way of running MSTS; e.g. installation in accordance with the Steam4me tutorial, and ensuring the security element of properties is set correctly, Personally I would be reluctant to change that approach unless I could be sure that it would be beneficial.
Jeffrey has been given the source codes for Route Riter by Mike Simpson and is looking at how it may be developed further, and in particular with respect to Open Rails.

Basically from what I can see, it is moving MSTS out of Program files (which most of us do anyway) then doing this, https://tsforum.forumotion.net/t29-setting-permissions-on-vista-windows7

Not sure if moving MSTS to program data would have any beneficial effects over moving it elsewhere outside of program files.

It looks as if Jeffrey's routines allow MSTS and some utilities to be installed in Program Files / Program Files (x86) (not ProgramData).
I don't wish to put anybody off from trying them out, but I won't be touching them!! He seems to be scaremongering, but after several uneventful years of using the Steam4Me procedures, I see no reason to change. You can call me a Luddite if you like

It does show program data on his screenshot, but I have my MSTS and all its associated bits and pieces on a separate (Second) dedicated hard drive where it works well, so moving it all back to C: isn't really an option.

Jeffrey's idea is good for anyone whose computer has multiple users who wish to use MSTS, but not all users have administrator privileges, a situation that would affect corporate/business/public computers more often than it would home/single user/family computers.
