I tried taking a screenshot of the position where it stopped with "0" pressed to get the coordinates on screen, but nothing was saved, I'll have to do it again.

It's a very nice route, I think it's meant to be a generic US(ish) styled route, I have run it with US stock which doesn't look out of place on it.

Hello Mark,I was thinking US too,but everywhere seems to have Spanish type names,and it runs im Kph.so I thought I'd use the loco's made for the route.At the moment I,m trying to get a proper Route Map for it,mainly because I keep getting lost. rendeer

The gentleman who created this route has a French email address, so my guess is this may be more orientated towards France. As it has route mileage in excess of 1000Km a route map would be quite a major job methinks. It's worth noting that there are both passenger and freight activities available on Trainsim[dot]com, together with a vast array of stock. I downloaded all of it some time ago but it is not yet installed.

I have the Nene valley route up and running, it can be a bit heavy on MSTS resources considering the low density of scenery in some parts of the route. it would hardly run when I first bought it, though that is no longer a problem with modern higher spec computers.

Hi,

I have it, but not currently installed. When I used to run it I seem to remember that using the supplied stock was like driving on sheet ice!! Apart from that it was well made and looked good. As Mark said it does need modern higher spec computers to enjoy it at its best.

I have just run the whole length of the route in MSTS using the J94 loco and everything worked perfectly, no problem with the brakes or stopping (driving on sheet ice) as some people have reported, so I'm not sure what is going on there.

I tried running the NVR in OR but didn't have much success with it, some paths that work OK in MSTS come back as broken in OR, once I found a path that did work I tried running the J94 in OR, but I couldn't get it to move at all no matter what keys I pressed, I'm currently updating to the latest version of OR to see if that helps.

UPDATE: The OR update has fixed the non operating J94 but not the broken paths, the brakes work as expected in OR too.

Thanks for that Mark,I don't understand it either,the brakes on the J94 DO work fine (except for locking up) Light Engine,but she Slides for ever when shunting in the yard (for me) so much so that on the Last Shunt ( to get back out on the Mainline) I did not go faster than 3 mph,and she still slid forward (Backward actually) even applying Sand failed to assist.So I'll just put it down as an MSTS foible,and crack on with the BoB acts which work fine as do the Diesels.Many thanks for looking,greatly appreciated,Regards Very Happy

Which act were you trying to run Roger? I'll run it and see if I can replicate the problem in the act.

As a side note, Nene valley runs perfectly on my new higher spec computer, no stuttering or loss of frame rates at all, OK

Just to say if you have MEP+ you can drive the Nene Valley Route as it was in the 1970's,the British Sugar Sidings were still in place then and also the Quarey roughly where Yarwell is now.

In BR Days the most common loco's on the route were BR Standard 4 and 5 MT, 4MT tank loco's, Ivatt 2-6-2T,and Ivatt Class 4 (Ugly Ducklings)  freight 8F Black 5 and 4F 0-6-0,and the odd B1.

Services ran from Peterborough East to  Rugby,there were also some through trains to Ely Norwich,Cambridge,Ipswich and Harwich.

Yes Mike,I do indeed have MEP +,it is without a doubt my favourite,both the Route and Stock alone make for a most enjoyable Simulation,so when you take into account the Activities it becomes (almost) unbeatable and its not just an A to B and back Route either.When you take into account that it works straight out of the box and costs a Fiver I would be surprised if this were not everyone's favourite,especially amongst those of us that cannot do the Technical bits of down loading stock (that works).

Mike the original problem I had was with Act 1,But I have managed to complete that one now,But find that I have problems with the Brakes on the "City of Birmingham" an s well as the "Class 14".
The other side of the Coin is though that "BoB 92 Squadron works and stops well,as does the Class 40".

Don,t know about the Spec of my PC,but I have no Stuttering on any of the SIMs,except Dorset Coast (in certain places).Nene Valley is a lovely run with great Scenery,so I'm certainly happy to use it,its just a shame that I cannot get certain Trains to STOP.

You will be pleased to know the real 92 Squadron is back on the Nene Valley Railway, it is being restored at present,hopefully it will be back inservice before the BR Standard City of Peterborough is taken out of service,due to it's boiler certificate running out.

Hi Roger,
It's a fictitious route, set in middle Sweden - the initials mean “Kvarndalen Munksäter Järnväg”!!
It's available on UKTS as files 9326 and 9327 (strangely, 9326 is an upgrade for 9327)

I first saw this route on a YouTube video when it was running a great sounding steam loco. It's similar to the one in your screenshot, but I don't think it's the same. I contacted the video uploader and asked where I could get the loco - he sent it to me, but, unfortunately, I can't share it Sad

Apologies are due Embarassed Embarassed   It wasn't the KMJ route that I downloaded a long time ago, but NMJ ("Nåttebo-Mellefors-Järnväg") although it is a Swedish route by, I think, the same author.

Hi Roger,
I hope you don't mean you might have to uninstall/re-install MSTS !!
...but if you do,and if you've only installed the route and no activities, you should be OK to just remove the route folder itself.  If you HAVE installed an activity (or more), you'll also need to remove the Consists for them before you're back to where you were before you added the route.

I must admit I fancy the Evesham branch,but its a litte expensive,anyway here's another UKTS downloaded route which comes with stock and half a dozen activities.

Just to say the Minister or Transport on the 5th February has opened the new link to allow trains to enter\exit the main line at at Whereham,it's a proper signalling system with staffs,the first train to use it was a SWT 158 which took the Minister to Corfe Castle and Swanage.

Over this year SWT will be running trial trains with a plan to reintroduce through Waterloo-Werham-Corfe Castle-Swanage Services,and if succesful the line might be electrified.

Just to say the Minister or Transport has just opened the new link to allow trains to enter the main line at at Whereham,it's a proper signalling system with staffs,the first train to use it was a SWT 159 which took the Minister to Corfe Castle and Swanage.

Over this year SWT will be running trial trains with a plan to reintroduce through Waterloo-Werham-Corfe Castle-Swanage Services,and if succesful the line might be electrified.

Sorry Mike. Just a little bit out there, It will be, or is planned to be a Wareham to Swanage service worked by Swanage railway class 117 DMMU's currently under refurbishment at Eastleigh Works.
I do not know of any plans to run through regular services from/to London and it most certainly will not be steam hauled as suggested by one of the monthly magazines
who should know better.
Of course there will be the occasional special train either main line steam, diesel or SWT 159.
Where have you heard the suggestion of the Swanage branch being electrified, Sounds like the Rumour and speculation department of British Rail are still active then Laughing Laughing

Just been reading on Swange Railways web page and the new signalling cost 32 million pounds,the electric tokens are changed at Corfe Castle signal box and on the platform at Wareham,there is also a direct link to the main power box at Basingstoke,Dorset County Council have given the railway a 99 year lease on the section between Worgret Junction and Furzebrooke.

Trail Trains start towards the end of 2016 and into 2017.to me £32 million seams a lot of money to spend just to allow heratage DMU's to just run a mile on the main line from Worgret Junction to Werham Station.also one of the 5 leading backers are South West Trains,along with Network Rail Purbeck Council and Dorset Council and Perenco Oil.

Hi Mike.
The cost is actually 3point 2 million pounds which was the contribution to the signalling at  the Worgret Jn end of the branch.
From  the pictures, you can see one of the key token instruments at Wareham station, although the Corfe Castle signalman gives a release from the instrument on the block
shelf in conjunction with the Basingstoke (Poole to Wool) signaller who sets the route on his panel, the key token is only taken as far as Norden, where it is placed in the
No Signalman Key token instrument, we have a separate No Signalman Key token instrument between Norden and Corfe castle.
I note that the SWT unit was a class 158, I think that is the first time that SWT have not sent a 159.
158890 was the last 158 that I worked as a guard on the Lymington branch before retiring.

I am assuming it's meant to be High Speed 1 going by the statue and clock in last shot.

While Waterloo is an easier station to get to for me (direct train), I have come to accept that St Pancras has never looked so good since the Eurostar moved there. I originally hated the idea of St Pancras being the terminus as it was my favourite station in London many years ago, but it was in a sorry state until Eurostar moved in.

The train is all wrong, but I've been on those units in France. Very nice they are too.

HS1 is a nice route, although complete it is a bit rough around the edges and needs tidying up and some final details polishing up, it could be a great route if someone could add some final attention to detail to it.

Hello Mark,this was the first Route I downloaded and was amazed by the improvement over the Default Route. Shocked But even way back then I wondered why I couldn't get nice White Steam out of my Engine,and never got Black out of the other.Still wondering,does the second Engine actually do any work !But the Stock that comes with this Route is Fantastic,AND I still use it.   Regards.... Despite the different coloured smoke I think they would perform and do work exactly the same as any other double headed loco in MSTS.
