Hi Ged,
Many thanks for sharing! Surprises me that this incident happened within a short range/amount of time... I hope the driver Recovered okay after this from both broken arms?
Apparently neither the Driver or Fireman were informed of the sensitivity of the loco to 'Priming'

A photo of the connecting rods afterwards here; http://www.flickr.com/photos/standardtankrichard/3387457270/

... and finally, for today, one just for Andy!

This was in 2007 and the strange (?) thing is that in 2012, Bittern had a similar problem, although she had a Class 25 banker but it was with a heavier train!

Ged

Hi all,
Here is how to do it right on Exeter bank with 34067 'Tangmere';

And not how to.... Although it seems it could have been the fault of the crew on 76079;

I still love my Bulleids! Oh and thanks Ged! That must be embarrassing having to be rescued by a Tank Engine like that! I have another that I am going to upload if I can find it.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,
Yes, it's a powerful loco - no wonder they named it Goliath!  I saw it in Paignton a few years ago, but it wasn't in steam.

Lovely photo of a lovely loco! My wife and I have travelled behind that one on our honeymoon! Many happy memories! These crews must know the banks etc very well to have to go and keep helping out!
Here is one you can't get out of trouble with;

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,
OOOps!!  Embarassed Embarassed
Did the driver get permission to pass the signal at danger? Or did he lose patience? If so, didn't he know about the trap-points??

So many questions! Wonder if the driver still works on the GCR!!

Cheers,
Ged

Here's how not to deliver a brand new locomotive. It wrote off the $1 million+ loco and caused thousands of dollar's of damage to the Quay side as well.

This next one the train isn't in trouble but the gentleman should be.

Hi Ben,
Thanks for that! I'd already seen it a couple of days ago Smile

According to the description, the slip started just as the loco went over a newly installed flange lubricator. You'd think the driver would have been aware of that, but maybe there was just too much oil!!

Cheers,
Ged

Hi,
I spotted this one - I know it's in foreign parts, but never mind, a steam loco is a steam loco - Right?!!
I've just given the link because the description should be read, and some of the comments are interesting Smile
