2 views of Pratteln, the area of current route building. The high rise buildings in the foreground are in the village itself, those in the distance are in Basel

Zurich-Basel Empty Re: Zurich-Basel

I am trying to upload a screenshot but I get this response:

Could not upload file : exceeded total storage space. (Free space : 11)

It says the max size per file is 3Mb and this file is 1021 kB

I have tried to upload it to my BTCloud, and I think it is there but it resolutely refuses to tell me how to post a link to the image.

I blame the young. If they had the same problems with gadgets that us oldies do then the people who design them would have to make them simpler to use!

Zurich-Basel Empty Re: Zurich-Basel

Hi Garry,
I've already approached Justin regarding the problem with attaching files to posts but he's not yet been able to offer a solution.

You can integrate an image into a post using the "Host an image" icon - 16th in from the right hand side.

I believe that you can insert an image from a web site by giving its URL in the "Insert an image" icon (15th from the right)

Cheers,
Ged

Gelterkinden by night

Thanks for the reply Ged

After not thinking about the problem for 14 hours I woke up this morning and remembered what I had done with my previous images. So hopefully I will remember how to do it next time!

This is at km post 22. I am going down towards Basle (km post zero) and beyond. Inserting road traffic and lighting before checking the appearance.

Zurich-Basel Empty Muttenz Marshalling Yard

Post  peacockg Mon 13 Nov 2023, 3:11 pm

Zurich-Basel Mutten10

A view of Muttenz Marshalling Yard. This is a two sided yard. The freight waggons on the left have arrived from the south, and will proceed through the yard before exiting some 3 to 4 km away to continue their journey to northern Europe. The waggons on the right are assembled trains awaiting departure in the opposite direction.

The main line can be seen as the two widely spaced tracks on the left, and also in the middle distance left crossing the bridge and approaching the 5.3 km long Adler tunnel. Both routes meet up at Liestal.

On the skyline ahead are the tower blocks of Basel.
