Whilst on holiday in the Forest of Dean, Ilma and I took a trip on the Dean Forest Railway. We boarded the 10:40 departure from Norchard High Level travelling up to Parkend, where 5541 ran round the train to take on water before carrying us back down to Norchard and then Lydney Junction. Once again 5541 ran round the train for the return trip to Norchard.

Thankfully the weather was good on Wednesday for this trip. The previous day there was thunder, lightning and torrential rain in the afternoon - literally putting a damper on that day. All in all a good time though with visits to Hereford, Hay-on-Wye and Tintern Abbey as well.
