Hello all (again)I'm trying to put a Cabview onto TSER 143959 & 143582 for the Wupper Route but haven't got a clue what I've done wrong. The Train is there in all ways except for the Cab View,(you can even drive it though you are sitting in the Air).

It does have a Cab view file containing one CVF file of 9 kb,so I assume that is not enough,or is there something I'm missing. However obvious it may be to you I'm afraid I'm lost.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,Neanderthal Embarassed

Hi Roger,
These locos are aliased to the cabview and sounds from something called PT4_BR143.

I'm having a search!!

Cheers,
Ged

EDIT (14:35) : It appears that the PT4 in the file name refers to a German payware addon called Pro Train 4. The thetrain.de website has sounds and cabview for the BR143 and it may be possible to alias to those instead of the payware ones. Come back if you need further help Smile

Hello Ged,sorry to have taken so long to come back,"thetrain.de" websight, does appear to have the missing item, but I'm afraid all the foreign sites just baffle me,(I've tried and tried to Translate them, but well,my PC skills obviously do not run to that).

Is it possible to just stick any cab into it (accuracy not an option),and if so how easy is it.For the sake of 2 activities its a shame not to run them, but at the end of the day buying all the Protrains would be rather costly.
Regards.Neanderthal

Hi Roger,
When installing these locos, the option is given to use the Acela cabview and sounds, but it doesn't work!!

1. Make a backup copy of the tser143582 folder... just in case!
2. Copy the CABVIEW and SOUND folders from the default Acela loco into the tser143582 folder, allowing overwrites.
3. You need to edit the eng file; use NotePad, WordPad or ConText - not Word!
4. Open file tser143582.eng using one of the above editors
5. Locate the first Sound line : Sound ( "tser143582eng.sms" ) and change it to Sound ( "acelaeng.sms" )
6. Locate the Cabview line : Cabview ( tser143582.cvf ) and change it to Cabview ( acela.cvf )
7. Locate the second Sound line (end of the file) : Sound ( "tser143582wag.sms" ) and change it to Sound ( "acelawag.sms" )

8. Repeat steps 4 - 7 for the other eng file in this folder : tser143582p1.eng
9. Save the amended file

10. Repeat 1 - 9 for the other folder, tser143959, replacing 143582 in the instructions with 143959.

Note that there must be one space each side of each bracket in all the above lines.

Cheers,
Ged

Hi Roger,
Try Amazon just had a look and the Protrain addon 1 S Bahn Liepzig uses a 143 and you can get it for £7.54 and that includes postage, from a UK shop, the cheapest was just over £3.00 but that was from Germany and postage was extra, there are lots of protrain routes there.
Or you could try bluesky interactive they used to stock protrain routes, just had a look and the same route there cost euro 19.93.

Thanks Mike, that is of course an option well worth thinking about, but I suppose even then I would have to transfer the cab across (and I bet its all written in German )also it appears that my translator has just been kicked into Touch again by Waterfox.

But on the other hand I like Protrain Austrian Experience so......... Very Happy

Hi Roger,
As the cab and sounds are linked to the Protrain 4 if you get that one you shouldn't have to do any thing,it should automatically find it,make sure you don't get Protrain Perfect items they're for Trainz

Thanks for that Mike, close inspection is not one of my finer points so I probably would have ended up with the Trainz version.I will have a look see and try and find Pro train 4 for MSTS (in English) if its still available. Embarassed

Hi Roger,
If you buy it make sure it says for MSTS,and not ProTrain Perfect,Protrain Perfect is Protrains version of Trainz

Hi Roger,
From your new Wupper thread, I assume you've received ProTrain 4 from Amazon.  It doesn't now appear in their listing, although, I notice there is a pack with ProTrain 3 & 4 available for only a few pence more - if anybody's interested!

Cheers,
Ged

Hi Ged,No it hasn't arrived yet,but has been dispatched.I am running Wupper to do the acts that have an Engine,I sort of messed up trying to change the cabs over, that is the only reason I'm buying Protrain 4,as I've been informed the cab is on that and should find its way to where its needed,PLEEZE !.Other than that I have no particular feel for the German Routes (cant read the pop ups).I do have Pro Train Austrian Experience, but very rarely use it for that reason alone.I like a lot of others am just waiting for UKTS to release the New Routes, regards Roger.
