Welshpool and Llanfair
Recently got the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway route up and running - it was available on UKTrainSim along with a few locomotives and bits of stock.
Took a little bit of work to get things running properley - had to mess about with the shape file a little to correct some of the valve gear animation on Earl and Countess but worth the work.
Whilst I was at it I added a few more steam effects, such as the injector overflow and added a crew.
Any, enjoy a few screenshots of this loveley route!

Nice, though the version I have does not go all the way to Llanfair Caereinion.
Even better of course to travel on the real thing.
Though the replica carriages show that passengers were smaller when the originals were built as they are decidedly cramped for my 6 ft 3 in.

You're lucky, I also downloaded it many years ago, and it did go the full distance, though I never got it to run properly.
That's my luck on NG, all very problematic apart from Talyllyn (on Cd).

Hi Roger,
If you want to complete the route to Llanfair Caereinion, you need to add Part 2 of the route - available from trainsim.com as file ID 7514.
You may also want to add the update, file ID 13150.
I also made a note in 2011 :
Cheers,
Ged

For your purposes, I think the last sentence should read "The appropriate amendment should be made to the .wag file"NOTE : the Pickcoach03w&l originally has an incorrect .s/.sd files for coach pick03WL.wag. Using the pick03wg.s and .sd files as replacements (which are included in the same folder) has solved the problem. The appropriate amendments have been made to the .wag file.

Narrow Gauge in MSTS could always be a little problematic - especially confusing were the difference scales 2x and truescale (to some people!)

Re: Welshpool and Llanfair
Hi Roger,
I'm assuming that you don't have this route installed.
It is an MSTS route and, as such, I suspect that it required the default GLOBAL and SOUND folders.
If you don't have access to those, then the route won't work under Open Rails without considerable 'work'!!
Cheers,
Ged
