Signal symbol
While adding some signalling to my Chiltern route I came across the symbol shown in the attached file. An internet search did not produce any identification for this type of signal. Does anyone out there know what this symbol signifies?

Re: Signal symbol
Hi Martin,
As far as I'm aware, a square containing a corner to corner 'X' denotes the position of a signal box. (At least it does on Quail Maps)

Re: Signal symbol
Thanks for your reply, Terry. However, it is clear from the signalling diagram I am using that this symbol represents some kind of ground signal or other trackside object. In the diagram a signal box is clearly marked as such against an empty oblong rectangle. Unfortunately I cannot attach the whole signalling diagram because when I attempt to do so I get a message saying there is not enough space to upload the picture.

Re: Signal symbol
OK, Martin.. I thought that was too simple!

Obviously not an AWS warning....!
Maybe posing a question to the webmaster might prove fruitful?

Re: Signal symbol
I sent an email to the webmaster at railsigns.uk and also to the Signalling Record Society. They both agree that the symbol represents an ex-GWR stop sign, something similar to a Limit of Shunt sign. Fortunately, I have modelled one of these, albeit unworking, but it will now look good placed in the appropriate locations.
