Re: BBS LNWR tank loco pack
Excellent news, which means I'll have to add my L&NWR carriages PDQ - hopefully this evening!

They look fab as does your work Alec. Any idea what would be the best route to run them on?

Re: BBS LNWR tank loco pack
Hi Andy.
Both the Skipton v1 (MR to Carlisle) and Renzo's Leeds-Settle-Carlisle routes are in the right era for LNWR running, although an MR route, the inclusion of LNWR stock with Renzo's route suggests that the LNWR may have run some services over the S&C or at least part of it.
Other routes would be the Thames Mersey (steam era) and the Cannock Chase routes, although they are in the right areas for LNWR, the era of these routes is more LMS/Early BR than pre grouping.
The various preserved steam routes available for MSTS are also a possibility.
But as Alec often says, in MSTS it doesn't really matter, you can run whatever you want wherever you want in the privacy of your own MSTS set up, you can use your own imagination.

Re: BBS LNWR tank loco pack
Just following on from Mark's post.
The Skipton to Carlisle route only has a short section of the LNWR main line from south of Carlisle into Carlisle station precincts. LNWR did not have running powers over the MR section of this route. So ....... you can have player MR trains running into Carlisle with LNWR AI trains to add interest, or vice versa !
The Burton to Derby route has a connection with the LNWR at Alrewas - it would be entirely feasible to have LNWR services running off the Alrewas line into Burton station and returning to the LNWR lines.
Mentioning Cannock Chase - don't forget that the follow up to this, the Black Country route, has more exLNWR trackage than Cannock Chase, and so could give more LNWR operational possibilities.
And ............ finally, at a pinch, you could use the North Wales Coast line, this was all ex-LNWR territory, so as well as LNWR express services, you could run LNWR local stopping passenger services.
Regards, Brian
PS - it would be great if a route author could negotiate with one of the other route authors (say, Black Country) to take the route back in time to just before the Grouping and remove any obviously later LMS or BR era or more modern structures, and so create a quasi LNWR route. It would be great around Birmingham to have both LNWR and MR trains running side by side through New Street.

"Any railway that paints their locomotives such a magnificent shade of red, must be the most superior in the land" (apologies to the late David Jenkinson).

On Thames-Trent V2 there is a very pleasant run from Northampton Castle or Market Harborough to Peterborough East, which is ex-LNWR. Roderic
