Railway Atlas Then and Now - 2nd Edition

I don't know whether any of you use this book but you may be interested to know that a second edition is being released next month:

I have the first edition sitting on the desk when I'm driving as it helps me get an idea of where in the world I am, particularly as my British geography is a little broad and general (except for a North Notts and a little patch of West Yorks).

I'd also be interested to know what other books everyone uses when it comes to creating the routes and navigating them.

Had a look so see if they were flogging off the first edition cheaply, when I saw what they wanted for it (anything from £50 to £1600+) I decided not to bother

Hello Both,here's what I use.(I prefer the first)and you can pick it up 2nd hand for less than a fiver.

 

The second one I think was about £20 but does have everything included information wise.(as it says Proposed,Closed,Survived).
Still prefer the first one though! That is just my personal choice .     Regards.

I use for locoomotives a Ian Allen Combined Volume for 1959,as it also has the shed allocations for each locomotive as well,other books a BR 1955 Eastern Region Summer Timetable,as it covers Kings Cross,Marylebone and Liverpool Street to all destinations,and for train formations Xtreme Publishing Operation Series books.
