Suitable tail lamp for Brake Van
Does anyone know where I can get a tail lamp that I can add to my LYR Brake Van? So far I've not found one. If not I'll have to try and make one?

Hi Alec, the only two I've found in the MSTS Library were the ones by Jon Bilton File ID. 13430
and the later one by Karl Restall File ID. 20951.

Thanks for the help. I had found 20951 but it's formed as a "wagon" and I didn't quite fancy it for my LYR stuff. I'll look out for Jon's upload and see what it offers.

The lamps from Jon also come as wagons, or should I say included with an invisible wagon. I really don't like that approach, and therefore I need to make my own for use as FreightAnim's. This then begs the question does anyone know where I can get some suitable dimensions or alternatively can supply some?

Hi Alec,
I haven't had a look at Jon's or Karl's files, but they must contain a shape file for the lamp. In which case, I don't see why you couldn't use that in your Freight Animation, with permission, of course! You would almost certainly need to use Shape Viewer and Shape File Manager to position it correctly, but that is quite easy I've recently done some headboards using Freight Animation, so please let me know if I can help.
Cheers,
Ged

Re: Suitable tail lamp for Brake Van
Here are the TSM files for an oil tail lamp, oil side lamp and a Bardic electric lamp.
Load the tail lamp as a part and position it. Save it as a part.
Mke a 1ft square cube and position it at the tip of the lense.
Goto F2 and Click on Referance Part Names - choose Light_
Rename it Light_Tail.
Tick the Referance part only box.
Delete the tail lamp.
This will add a basic lighting section to the wag file.
You can copy the light section from one of my wagons to get the details.
Now click new and load to tail lamp again.
Name it and createTS object file.
You can then use it as a freigh animation.
Anyone else who wants a tail lamp feel free to download.

Thank you Ged, Clive and Ian.
Ian, I will open and use your data this evening. Fingers crossed I don't get in the proverbial "2 and 8"!
