Folkestone Harbour Branch
It looks as if the mothballed Folkestone harbour branch is to be formally closed, lifted and the Harbour station site redeveloped in the not too distant future.
This is a sequrnce of 34027 Taw Vally and Standard 4MT 80080 working on the Folkestone Harbour branch on Friday 13th September 1991
The first shot is at Folkestone east of them being towed from either Ashford or London as the southern region steam ban over electrified lines was still in force.
They ran up and down the nearside line on the branch The third rail being discharged, but it was the start of steam on electrified lines.
Hope this works!!!
Cheers

Re: Folkestone Harbour Branch
Hi Andy,
Very nice selection of photos. Unfortunately I missed out on this as I was too young at the time to venture out on my own!
Glad to see you still remember how to post photos! And I am glad you have done this selection. There was talk some way back about re-opening, but it seems that might not happen now.
Although, there might still be a chance later on; http://www.theremembranceline.org.uk/project_index.htm
Cheers
