Nene Valley Railway
Route Name = Nene Valley Railway
Route Author = Firelight Design
Route Location = near Peterborough, UK.
Route Mileage = 7.5 miles (preserved section) plus additional 40 miles
Route Era = Modern Preserved
Route Source = This route can be purchased from either Amazon, Play or First Class Simulations.
Additional files required to be installed = none
Route Description =
An MSTS commercial route available to purchase as a CD as noted above, and additional activities and relevant stock can be downloaded from UKTrainSim.
“The Nene Valley line between Longville and Yarwell junctions was bought by the Peterborough Development Corporation, and was leased to the PRS, thereby laying the foundation of the Nene Valley Railway as it is today.
Originally the Nene Valley line ran between Peterborough and Blisworth, south of Northampton, but traffic finally ceased on this line in 1972, and the line was closed by British Rail in that year. The section run by the Nene Valley Railway terminates at Yarwell Junction and is all that remains today.
This recreation includes not only the preserved 7.5 miles that runs between Yarwell Junction and Peterborough but the remaining 40 miles to Blisworth.
As it is a preserved railway the highest speed limit is 25mph.
This pay-ware route comes complete with 16 activities and the rolling stock required for them covering both steam and diesel engines.”
