‘Scottish Capital Express’ is the sixth route to be released by Making Tracks emulates the busy former North British Railway commuter route from Edinburgh Waverley to Falkirk, and on to Glasgow Queen Street. The route is depicted as it was in the early 1980s, when the only colour was blue. At that time, diesel locomotives were the mainstay of motive power available to British Rail and the majority of long distance services were loco hauled. Scottish Capital Express includes many challenging activities to drive express intercity services using the iconic Inter-City 125 ’HST’ and Class 47’s, long distance services with Class 37’s and the unique push pull services using Class 26/27’s and the Class 47/DBSO sets designed for the ScotRail services from Glasgow to Edinburgh.
The included 20 activities represent realistic scenarios based on real-life traffic, so you will be able to undertake a number of entertaining and challenging opportunities to immerse yourself in railway operations.
