Re: R.I.P.
Shouldn't that be "The Queen is dead. God Save The King"?

Not quite, it should be The Queen is dead, Long live the King!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this sad time. We also look back on her inspirational life.
May she rest in peace.

Re: R.I.P.
Thanks for the correction Stephen.
I've lived in England, Canada and now New Zealand, so since I was 5 she was always my Queen. What a classy lady!

Re: R.I.P.
I feel strangely sad. It's like losing a member of the family.
She was the only Monarch I have known for most of my life - I was 11 in 1953.
Farewell to a lovely, much respected, lady. R.I.P.

Re: R.I.P.
It would be very fitting if the authorities allowed the Royal Funeral Train to pause for a few minutes, at say Watford Junction, to allow Her Majesty's namesake engine, LMS 6201 "Princess Elizabeth", to be coupled to the front of the train to escort Her Majesty into London for the very last time.
If it was appropriate for a Prime Minister (Churchill), it would be even more appropriate for a Monarch.

"Any railway that paints their locomotives such a magnificent shade of red, must be the most superior in the land" (apologies to the late David Jenkinson).
Re: R.I.P.
I know that I am late to post to this thread, but I am still in a bit of shock over the Queens passing.
I did not know her personally, but like most, she is the only British monarch that I have known of (and therefore our head of state in Australia).
I know that her health had not been the best lately, and there had been many false rumors in the press in the past about her passing that when I read the first news article about her passing I didn't believe it. I knew that the day would come eventually when she would pass, but it as quite sudden.
To be honest it reminded me of my grandfathers passing many years ago.
His health had been going for a while, and had been in palliative care twice but had come out.
When he finally passed, it was like "wait... what...? No he has come back before. Ok this is for real this time."
A sad time for all in a lot of countries around the world where she inspired many.
May she rest in peace.
