Route Description =
An MSTS route that can be downloaded from UKTS. Additional activities and appropriate stock have been uploaded to UKTS for use on this route.

"This route is an interpretation of the Midland main line as it existed in BR days, and runs from St Pancras, London to Toton, Derby, Nottingham and Corby. The lines to Moorgate, Higham Ferrers and Loddington are also modelled.

It is set in the late 1950's/ early 1960's when major sidings and goods yards still existed. Clive has tried to model notable places as accurately as he could, and replicate station buildings, etc. in the style that he thought they were. In some places photographs did not exist and 'generic' buildings are used.

Track layouts are shrunk to accommodate MSTS tile limits and maintain 'playability', but are still quite big.

6 basic 'Explore' activities are included with the route together with the relevant stock."

Clive is currently developing Version 2, which expand the route considerably. This will include the following:
a. The line continued from Corby to Nottingham.
b. Rugby and Northampton modelled, and linked to the original route at Leicester, Market Harborough and Bedford.
c. The possibility of creating the cross country lines to Peterborough.

(This post was put together by Clive with a small input from Alec.)

UPDATE = Version 2 is now available

Thames Trent V1 & V2 Thames-TrentV2_zpsqioet5cl

Details..... as above but much extended since V1

Route Source = It can be downloaded from UKTS ( http://www.uktrainsim.com/ ) as  Main Route File ID (UKTS34102)

Route Description =  From Clive's readme.

"This is my interpretation of Midland Main Line from St Pancras, London to Toton, Derby,Nottingham and Sheffield as it was in the late 1950's / early 1960's.  The lines from Northampton to Peterborough East, Rugby to Stamford and Leicester to Peterborough East as well as several branches and linking lines are included.
A map is included which shows all of the lines.

Track plans and signalling is based on information taken from 'British Railways Layout Plans of the 1950's'. A series of books by John Swift and published by the Signalling Record Society.

The constrictions of MSTS meant that the larger yards had to be reduced to maintain 'playability', but I hope the route still gives an impression of the size of these yards."
