[Contact] URGENT - re Otto Wipfel
I have received a PM from lateagain (Geoff) asking me to post the message below............
I hope all is well with Otto, but it is good that people in the trainsim community do look out for one another.
Mark.
lateagain wrote:"CAN YOU POST THIS TOPIC ASAP ...apparently I can't start a thread even logged in?
Many of you who have been around Train Sims since the start will remember Otto.
There is deep concern for his health over at Trainsim.com as he was a persistent and regular contributor. See this thread at ts.com "I am a bit Worried" . I know that some contributors here know Otto personally and know his whereabouts. The concern is that as Otto lives alone he may have been taken unwell and as has been suggested an alert to the local Police would be an obvious step. Of course to do that you need to know where to contact.
Anyone who can help please do so ASAP.
Thanks
Geoff"

NEWS UPDATE:
Hi All
I've just been contacted by Somerset & Avon Police to let me know they've located Otto. He's been admitted to Hospital and is OK at present.
Not being family that is all I know so anyone with closer links might like to contact them. They are aware of the thread on trainsim.com and have my name (Geoff Brown) and the mail I sent them was todays date.
Hopefully we'll soon see Otto giving out some stick as usual over at ts.com

Trainsim.com has been updated:
http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?325884-Report-on-Otto-Wipfel
Sounds like he has had quite a bad stroke so hopes and wishes for a successful recovery.

Thanks for the update Vern.
A stroke at his age is not good, but I hope he makes a good recovery.
I'm sure we all wish him well and a speedy recovery.

Hi All,
I've just seen a post on trainsm.com that Otto's website is no longer available.
I've confirmed it myself, and hope it's only because he hasn't renewed his subscription.

Sad news I just checked the latest on Otto at TS and he has passed away.
RIP - his unique input will be missed.
However I'm sure he's already advising old St Pete that he needs to put turning loops on the railway terminus at the Pearly Gates...

Thanks, Vern for the update.
It is sad news, but I'm sure you're right about him advising on putting loops at the ends of routes in the Heavenly MSTS installations!
I have the various files he produced for MSTS, including his improvements to the SVR, so he certainly won't be forgotten.
My condolences to his family and all of his friends.
