Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if anyone is able to help at all? Does anybody have the Dimensions of the Midhants Railway Black 5 no. 45379 please? I need separate dimensions for both Loco and Tender as I am thinking of possibly doing my first steamer?

Many Thanks in advance.

Andy

Hi Ged,

Many Thanks for that. I did see this page already, but was wondering if the dimensions are including the tender or not?

Hopefully some others can shed some light (Excuse the pun!) Very Happy

Cheers

Perhaps you might be able to get hold of a copy of the relevant "LMS Locomotive Profile", see HERE.

A S/H copy of probably the relevant one can be found HERE.

Thanks Alec,

I will try another route by asking a fellow volunteer at the Midhants to see if he can supply me the dimensions of Clack 5 45379 loco and Tender.... If not, I will try as you suggested... But someone must know having made them for MSTS already?

Cheers

Hi Martin,

Many Thanks for that link. All I need to do is to try and save the image and try and enlarge it better to decipher the exact measurements!! Shocked

Cheers

Andy

If you hadn't noticed, the image on Part 2 is far better than that on Part 1

I've just copied the image on Page 2 into MS Paint and it enlarged to a decent scale to allow the dimensions to be read. Good luck with your proposal to build an engine. I'm going to be looking for drawings with dimensions for LNWR locomotives for use with my current crop of non-corridor coaches - assume that some degree of scaling will be required?

Thanks Martin,

I did find a slightly better image via Google Images of the exact same image and currently reviewing it. I have done the frame and the Smokebox and Boiler Barrel and just trying to work out everything else.....

It's certainly going to be interesting to see how the reverser and connecting Rod on the Slide bar fit together and the Rocker as well......

It's certainly going to be a challenge Alec! Shocked

But I think this is the last thing in MSTS that I haven't delved into yet!..... With the Route making progress; albeit at a snails pace and model work done in the past and Activities, then I am getting there from about 3 years ago when Justin first mentioned about doing models for MSTS....

It's certainly been fun; if not testing at times! I just hope my modelling work has improved and continues to do so for the enjoyment of others! But, I feel I need to do this particular loco as it hasn't been done yet! Yes, I could ask about reskinning someone elses work, but I have done that too in the past having reskinned every single Merchant Navy there was! So, what is the fun in that? We are all here to learn and enjoy and do something different.

Anyway, enough of me going on! Very Happy

I will try and get on with the Midhants Railway Black 5 and post some progress updates in my Workshop thread as and when I have done some figures and research.... I am going to try and make this model the best it can be within the limits of MSTS.

Cheers

Andy

Your modelling work has shown a marked and steady improvement and some of your latest models for the route are excellent.
