Headboards Empty Headboards

Post  35005CP Tue 20 Aug 2013, 8:57 pm

Hi all,
With the DEMU fairly close to completion and headboard as shown on the front of the Hastings DEMU, can someone tell me if in the ,eng file you can just edit the headboard line to remove the Animation from view?
Here is the line.

FreightAnim ( Hastings_DEMU_Farewell_Headboard.S 0 1.0 1.0 )

Thanks in advance. Again, not just to help me out, but might be useful to others.

Hi Andy,

If you remove the FreightAnim line from the .eng file then the object(s) will not be displayed.

Hi Danny,
So does that mean it has to be removed completely or a new .eng file without the FreightAnim Line created?
So what /I am saying is I take it you can't put something like a ';' for it not to show?
Many Thanks.

My understanding is that you would need a separate engine file, or the alternative is to put the line in a Comment; i.e.

Comment ( FreightAnim ( Hastings_DEMU_Farewell_Headboard.S 0 1.0 1.0 ) )

. . unless of course someone knows better!

I guess there are various ways of doing this.... but I like to keep things simple, so if a model doesn't require a FreightAnim why include a line in the .eng file?

You are absoloutely correct. If a FreightAnim is not used, this line should not be included.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Will look at doing 2 separate .eng files; 1 containing the Headboard and 1 not.... If anything this is Information for any others to see and to help those out as well...
