lost file
Hello all,can anyone please tell me where to find a file I appear to have lost.I keep getting the message "Failed to find SMS file" file:genfreightwag14sms.As far as I can ascertain all I have added lately is the Set of Mountaineer locomotives of which I am using two to Double Head a Lumber Train. I don't know if there's a connection but the message appears twice asking if I wish to continue, and it seems to work Ok. Is there somewhere I should look for this file, would it be maybe already in my MSTS somewhere else that I could copy it from, any help would be great thanks Neanderthal
Roger
Re: lost file
Hi Roger,
That file should be in your global SOUND folder, ie the one in your MSTS root folder. It is not one of the default genfreightwag sms files, so I think it may have been included in the loco or lumber wagons you downloaded - have you checked their folders and readme? The absence of that file won't hurt anything, it's just that you'll be missing some sounds.
Cheers,
Ged

Re: lost file
Hi Roger, a Google search for this file revealed three returns, the first one suggested that you copied an
existing file and rename it before moving it back into the MSTS Sounds Folder, the next said it came with
a narrow gauge steam loco and the last one said it was the clickety-clack sounds from Elvas-Tower which
unfortunately has closed down.

Re: lost file
Hi Roger,
I MUST correct Bob!!
Elvastower has NOT closed down, only the MSTS and Screenshots Forums have been removed (temporarily, hopefully!) and the file library is still available. The file mentioned is there and contains your "missing" sms file, together with associated wav files
