Night time textures and lighting
I have recently restarted my recreation of the now even more extinct Devizes Branch line after a couple of years of being just too busy.
I was building my versions of signal boxes using google sketchup and GIMP (together with TGAtools, aceit etc) and ran into difficulties with night textures.
Whilst I can create the night textures I'm not that impressed with the way in which models just have dim, yellowish windows at night.
I have been playing around with light sources but have run into a problem which is how to get a light source to show through an opaque window.
Has anyone tried this?
