Anybody else have this problem?
Hi guys,
I just thought I'd share this one with you:
I am currently "trying" to do some research on LNER coaches using Google images (No I haven't built them all, yet) and made a slightly awkward and annoying find: some of the images listed are actually my MSTS work from UKTS forums as well as TSSH!!! Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to see my stuff is “being advertised” but when you are looking of other inspiration and information, being presented with your own work is almost like “Yes, thank you. I already know about those, in fact that is my work. Can’t you show me something that I haven’t done?”.

Justin,
Yes I've had that before when looking for loco info to help people out it comes up with ukts forum threads.
Hope you don't mind but had to laugh a bit
It also makes you rather angry as well

I think anyone who has made contributions to the web on any subject has come across this situation at one time or another.
Google search/images has its own rules, it shows you everything imaginable EXCEPT what your'e actually looking for.
Same thing with Amazon search too, I searched the other day for some M2 x 04 screws and it showed me every nut, bolt and screw they had in stock except the one I was looking for, even though they had it in stock, (they came up in another totally unrelated search)

Yes I've come across this before, but it doesn't annoy me. If it comes up on the first list - other than those that have paid - doesn't it mean that the reference is popular? Perhaps it also goes to show that some of your work is unique! Isn't the searching in any area dependent upon the programming for that search engine? When I was looking for FG DMU images, typing in "Class 101" brought up what I was looking for plus cars and school classes and quite a few other oddities!

Hi all,
The problem with searching for items is it looks at key words! I have done this many a time and found my work whilst searching for things! Sometimes your search is helped by those around you.... what are you looking for Justin? I or someone else might beable to help....Also if you change your Google Search wording as I have done on a few occasions brings up different things.... For example if I do a search for Met 4TC or London Transport 4TC in google it brings up completely different things..... Just an example.... Basically Search engines use Key words...
Hope this helps
Cheers
Andy

Search for Woodstock Wagon Co and you get my wagons.
I also get adverts for office supplies and services.
Someone thinks it's a rear company.

Re: Anybody else have this problem?
Hi Guys,
Ben I do agree that it was a bit funny, especially when you are sitting there going "nope, nope, that one's mine, nope, nope, mine, nope, know the picture well, mine, mine again, nope, nope ....."
This time I'm actually looking for something at the opposite end of the spectrum: 4 or 6 wheeled coaches (possibly of pre-grouping origins).
This is for multiple reasons, namely for short branch services as well as 3D printing.
