Class 40 Diesel query
Hi Chaps,
i am wondering if anyone knows the answer to this....
Why is it that some class 40's (seems to be some of the early ones with the front discs removed) appear to have the items between the bogies removed.
I think they would of been fuel tanks/ batteries.
I noticed it on 40001 & 40010 on the models but after some investigation i saw that it was not just a programming error on the game but in actual fact some of these loco's had a big gap underneath!?!?
I wonder if they had been modded with the fuel tanks maybe situated in the boiler compartment once an inop boiler was removed.
Any idea's anyone...
Thanks...

Re: Class 40 Diesel query
Purely as a stab in the dark I understand that several Class 40s had their steam heating and associated water tanks removed and I wonder whether this might be related? I'll dig out my MLI No 179 which was for Class 40s and see if it says anything.

Hi Alec,
thanks for your input, i look forward to your findings.
I paired 2 class 40's together in the consist editor & it was only then that i saw that one of them was missing a big lump of stuff underneath!
It really did look odd compared to the other one!
Thanks.

Re: Class 40 Diesel query
As Alec said, it is the steam heating equipment on some locos that was removed.
