Unpacking APK files - problem with Norton
I have never had a problem until today.
Now I have been trying to install the "activity" recently uploaded for Mid East Coast.
Whatever I do, Norton blocks any unpacking saying that the file is dangerous and "Suspicious process trying to modify attributes of a file protected by Data Protector"
and in the next line:
Target: c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppCrash_APKExtractor3.ex_fbd35bb6f516080f54c706bb2336089ab5d1f_4ff3fc95_cab_ee8bc567-2ebb-42eb-8c30-30ca26e25db4\WER6874.tmp.mdmp
All gibberish to me I am afraid.
And there is an option to EXCLUDE - but does that mean exclude the file from control or stop it being used?
I have already altered the settings to say that I trust the APK program.

Re: Unpacking APK files - problem with Norton
Hi Jonathan,
Sorry, I can't help - I'd never touch Norton!!
However, all antivirus programs offer an option to exclude specified folders/files from their checking. You can safely exclude all my utilities - it's much easier if they are all in one folder!
Cheers,
Ged

I turns out that it was a problem with the APK file.
The author has uploaded a new version and it installed fine.

Hi Jonathan,
Yes, so I see!
I had downloaded the original file and have checked it today. The .apk file wasn't just corrupt, it was empty!!
