Unwanted adverts
Hi All,
Why is it that when I first try to access "Posts since last visit" all I get is an advert? If I close it and try again then the link works correctly.
I think that this is a site problem as I get the same thing when using my mobile.
I know that adverts are a necessary evil which provide income to run the site.
Regards,
Stephen

Re: Unwanted adverts
Hi Stephen,
Although I get a small advert in the middle of the screen, it doesn't prevent the display of posts. I use Google Chrome and have just tried with Firefox and Edge, with the same result.
Maybe you're using a different browser, or need to change the setting of the one you are using.
Cheers,
Ged

Hi Ged,
Thanks for your quick response.
I am using Google Chrome on both my computer and mobile so what settings might I need to change?

Stephen

Re: Unwanted adverts
Hi Stephen,
AH!! The $64,000 dollar question! To be honest, I don't know - hopefully, somebody else will be able to help.
I have run a utility called Privacy Badger for many years - that might be what's stopping some adverts from appearing.
Cheers,
Ged

Re: Unwanted adverts
Hi All.
I'm not sure if it will help, but I have "Adblock plus" installed in my browsers, most adverts don't get through, I only rarely ever see an advert on this site and hardly any on other sites.
Some sites don't like you using ad blockers and will restrict your access unless you unblock ads on their site, but that is easy to do and doesn't affect other sites.

Re: Unwanted adverts
Hi all,
Thanks for your suggestions and apologies for my late response.
I don't mind seeing the adverts but if I click on the link for something I don't expect the advert to open.
As yet I haven't tried an ad blocker as I am reluctant to add something unknown on this new computer. However I did try one on my mobile but it wanted me to change my other internet settings as well so I deleted it.
Regards,
Stephen
