Sad news

It is with sadness that I need to tell you that my lovely wife Ilma passed away early this morning.

R.I.P. my darling.

Hello Alec,

It is with great sadness that I write to you today. This morning I shed a little tear or two for yet another mate who has lost his life's Love.

Although I have never met you in person, you seem like a brother to me, in our joint fondness of those wonderful things called steam trains.

In our younger days we amble along without direction, then one fateful day we meet our special lady, and are totally gobsmacked. Over the decades, that special lady influenced our lives, guided and molded us into the person we are today. Then, suddenly that special person is no longer there.

Whilst it is a time of great sadness, take the time to reflect on the thousands of little moments that you shared with Ilma that made your life that much richer. Take heart in the love and joy she brought to your life, and that one day in the future you will be joined with her again, for all eternity.

I have been very lucky to have shared my life with Ilma, and it was of course fortunate that she found pleasure in our railway journeys on the preserved lines in England. When we saw "Flying Scotsman" run through Malton many years ago she developed a real interest and fondness for this engine!

TSM and MSTS provided some welcome relief once Ilma was settled in the evening, and once we're sorted I hope to devote time to completing many more LNWR and LYR rolling stock.

My condolences, too, Alec.
