Trainsim.com Down?
In a variation on the UKTS theme, anyone else seeing difficulty getting TS.com to appear this morning?
Been trying since 0700 and just keep getting the Unknown Host/DNS error.

Not just me, then. Looks like Flightsim com down too so must be a fairly major problem. Hopefully recoverable.

It seemed to come back ~1800 yesterday evening, no information as to what went wrong though.

Re: Trainsim.com Down?
On the subject of Trainsim.com, it appears reading between the lines they are starting to have cost issues keeping the forum and download library going (there's a couple of threads in the General section about it). Don't want to start a huge debate here about it, but one of the measures being considered is adopting a system whereby certain files (with the blessing of the original author) can be restricted to download only by those with a Premium membership. Got mixed feelings about that as it kind of partly removes the "free" from freeware, but TS is too valuable a resource to lose and if you make the comparison with UKTS, you pretty much have to purchase a month's membership to download anything worthwhile.
So just really want to get a feel for what others might think on the matter (in a serious, sensible manner). The biggest handicap I can see is that asset or rolling stock (if bundled with a route) providers might not be too keen on it only being limited access. It's also not entirely certain this would do much to boost the fortunes at TS, given the likely level of traffic and that even protected files have a habit of springing up all over the net at some point anyway!
