MSTS - Helpful Facts and Links - Part 36: LYR models to support Rufuskins LYR Wagon models
As Alec is rapidly building the whole of the LYR wagon diagram book, I thought it was time to build up a list of supporting LYR models, to enable users to setup a LYR pre-group trainset for use on any routes that cover former LYR territory.
The following LYR locos and rolling stock are currently available for MSTS/OR :
Note that I'm using pre-1920 LYR class descriptions (as shown in 'Locomotives at The Grouping - Vol3 - LMS' by Casserley and Johnston, Ian Allen, 1966)
2F 0-6-0 Class F19 No1080 Aspinall - UKTS22287 by John Riddell
2F 0-6-0 Class F19 No1300 Aspinall - UKTS29763 by Dave Robinson
2F 0-6-0 Class F15 No957 Barton Wright - UKTS29762 by Dave Robinson
2F 0-6-0ST Class F16 No752 Aspinall - UKTS29957 by Dave Robinson
0F 0-4-0ST Class B7 No??? Aspinall - UKTS17212 by Chris Heighton
0F 0-4-0ST Class B7 No19 Aspinall - UKTS29958 by Dave Robinson
0F 0-4-0ST Class B7 No68 Aspinall - UKTS 29969 by Dave Robinson
2P 2-4-2T Class K2 No746 Aspinall - Skipton 1920 CD * by Walker/Bran
3P 2-4-2T Class K3 No227 Hughes - Skipton 1920 CD * by Walker/Bran
2P 4-4-2 Class L1 No1399 Aspinall 'Atlantic' - UKTS 37370 by Brian Bere-Streeter
2P 4-4-0 Class J4 No1224 Aspinall - UKTS 37370 by Brian Bere-Streeter
6F 0-8-0 Class Q3 No67 Hughes - UKTS 37669 by Brian Bere-Streeter
3F 2-6-2T Class M1 No712 Hoy - UKTS 37669 by Brian Bere-Streeter
6F 0-8-2T Class R1 No 1504 Hughes - UKTS 37669 by Brian Bere-Streeter
0-4-0T Steam Railmotor No5 - UKTS 37719 by Brian Bere-Streeter
4-car set of LYR 6-wheel coaches - UKTS 37374 by Brian Bere-Streeter
3-car set of bogie LYR LBL set coaches - UKTS 37374 by Brian Bere-Streeter
LYR Special Saloons - UKTS 37771 by Brian Bere-Streeter
* - the Skipton 1920 CD also includes the following models :
2x 'generic' non-corridor coaches in LYR livery - 1x Brake3rd, 1x Composite
3x non-passenger coaching stock - 1x horsebox, 1x fish van, 1x butter van - superseded by Rufuskins wagons
6x wagons - 1x 1plank, 2x 3plank, 2x 7plank 1x brake van - superseded by Rufuskins wagons
A LYR loco wishlist :
The following locos would be desirable to add the above - if anyone feels inclined to build them.
3P 4-6-0 Class N1 Hughes (unrebuilt - i.e no Walschearts valvegear)
1P 4-4-0 Class J3 Barton Wright
7F 0-8-0 Class Q4 Hughes
5F 0-8-0 Class Q1 Aspinall 'Coal'
1F 0-6-2T Class H3 Barton Wright
It would also be nice to have a number of, say 3 to 4, typical LYR Corridor coaches to go with these.
As any new models come to light, I will amend this list and add them above

Re: MSTS - Helpful Facts and Links - Part 36: LYR models to support Rufuskins LYR Wagon models
Hi Justin.
There are a couple of LYR engines (one Atlantic and one class 3) and some LYR coaches that come bundled with the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line.
https://tsforum.forumotion.net/t129-leeds-settle-carlisle
This route is worth getting, not only for the stock, but this version of the S&C is probably the best version of this route available, and it runs all the way from Leeds/Bradford to Carlisle.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
Thanks for that. Mark - I was just about to post details!!
However, I will add one more -
http://trainsim.ch/default.aspx (Marcel's TrainSim Seite) has one L&Y loco - LY_1008.zip which is described as a 2-4-2T, built at Horwich in 1889.
The same site also has several Midland/LMS and LNWR locos and coaches.
Cheers,
Ged

An update to Mark's and Ged's comments above :
Marcel's LYR loco is a 2P 2-4-2T Class K2 No1008 Aspinall - the number 1008 is correct for the class - this shape has also been used repainted into other railway liveries, so it 'may' be a 'generic' 2-4-2T and not be an accurate model of a LYR loco, although most of the visual LYR style is there.
Renzo's LYR locos, from the 'Leeds-Settle-Carlisle' stock pack :
The 0-6-0 is a basic model of a NER J1 class repainted to represent a LYR F15 Barton Wright - the number 930 is correct for the class.
The 4-4-2 is a basic model of a GNR C2 class Klondyke repainted to represent a LYR L1 Aspinall - the number 1481 does not exist in the official LYR numbering for this class, it could be changed to 1418 to be corrected.
The 2 LYR non-corridor coaches included in Renzo's download are similar non-corridor coaches to those from the Skipton 1920 CD.
Other info as it comes to hand, Regards, Brian
