Flying Scotsman: a quick history.

Post  j3801 on Sun 27 Apr 2014, 8:15 am

Hi guys,

After digging around for some other things I came across some information that I had been given long ago (around 1999) regarding 4472 Flying Scotsman, its liveries and tenders. This information came from Flying Scotsman Enterprises. I have updated it a bit and included the owner swaps.

(Key to tenders: GN= Great Northern type. C= Corridor. N.C.= Streamlined Non-corridor.)

It is interesting to note that 4472 only had a corridor tender for about 10 years before being swapped for a non-corridor type which it kept for 25 years (it lasted for 5 years with a G.N. styled one).
