Makes you think?
Good afternoon everyone
This true tale makes you think
A friend of mine who is a retired Electrical Engineer had a friend who was made redundant at the age of 62
He had worked all his life but had no hobbies
On the day of his redundancy he arrived home and was sat in his favorite arm chair clutching his redundancy cheque
His wife had just popped in to the kitchen to make a pot of tea
She called to her husband from the kitchen and received no reply
When she returned to the lounge her husband was still holding his cheque
As she drew closer to the chair she discovered her husband had died suddenly
I've always thought anyone who doesn't have a hobby are missing out
Kind regards Stephen

Re: Makes you think?
That is very sad Stephen
I do agree about the hobbies, hobbies also keep you active and give you something to live for after retirement.

Re: Makes you think?
Good evening Mark
I was quite shocked when my mate told me of the recent event
It is surprising though how many people don't actually have a hobby
Some may think us railway buffs strange but at least we're enjoying ourselves as best as we can
Long may train simming continue
Kind regards Stephen
